Tele2 AB, ("Tele2", "the Group") (Nasdaq: TLTOA and TLTOB) and (Stockholmsborsen: TEL2A and TEL2B), the leading alternative pan-European telecommunications company, welcomes the announcement that ART, the French telecommunications regulator, will impose interconnection cuts of between 5 percent-10 percent from January 1, 2002.

Tele2 believes that it will see a decrease of 5-10 percent in combined interconnect tariffs relevant for Tele2 in France.
