WORLD champion Paul Foster Paul Foster may refer to:

 crashed out of the pounds 64,000 Bupa Care Homes Open in Blackpool yesterday when he lost a tie-break shoot-out to England international Greg Harlow.

The Troon bowler bounced back from 5-3 down to take the opening set 6-5 but Harlow won the second by the same margin to push the second-round match into a sudden-death decider.

Foster looked poised for victory when he lay shot but Harlow drew an inch behind the jack with his last delivery and Foster failed to alter things with his final bowl.

The Scot said: "It could have gone either way but that's the way it goes in deciding-end shoot-outs.

"I'm disappointed but Greg played well and his last bowl was a great one considering the pressure he was under."

No.3 seed John Price survived a real scare before edging out New Zealand's Steve Posa on a tie-break.

Posa took the opening set 5-3 and lost the second 7-4 on an extra end before Welshman Price took shot with his final bowl of the match to edge through.

Former world champion Robert Weale Robert Weale (Born 3 April, 1963) originally from Presteigne and educated at John Beddoes School, is a Welsh Bowls player. BADMINTON: Common-wealth Games champion Kelly Morgan Kelly Morgan (born May 22, 1975) is a Welsh badminton player born in South Wales.

Kirton, who has recently been playing in Canada, will join the Findus League pace-setters once he gets clearance.

 last night stepped up their hunt for a No.1 for next season.

Co-owner Alan Dick revealed they were in talks with a number of British riders but said: "We won't break the bank for him.

"Realistically, there are only six out-and-out No.1s in the league and the competition will increase as Somerset and Rye House are likely to be joining the Premier League, giving us 17 teams.

"If we can't get our No.1 then we'll look at doing what other sides have done and that's being really strong right through the team."
