On Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Reading High School, Savage Hyundai awarded Nicoleta Necula with the Second Annual Hyundai Educational Advancement Award. Students qualified for the award by writing an essay demonstrating how a car would prove invaluable while pursuing a secondary education. In addition to writing the essay, students were required to be enrolled in a secondary education program and have a written recommendation from a Reading teacher or faculty member. The response was overwhelming, and through a thoughtful selection process, a winner was chosen.
