The Sparks welcomed Julie Rousseau to the head coaching ranks with a 77-52 victory over Houston on Wednesday night, and, in the process, ended their two-game losing streak.

The win, before 7,240 at the Forum, improved the Sparks to 5-7.

Houston led 12-6 four minutes into the game on a layup by guard Kim Perrot Kim Perrot (January 18, 1967 — August 19, 1999), was an American basketball player. She played in the WNBA for the Houston Comets.

. The Sparks then broke the game open with a 25-2 run. They shot 35.9 percent during the decisive first half and were led by Penny Toler's eight points. They shot 41.1 percent from the field for the game.

Houston's 18 first-half points tied the league's lowest output for a half.
