Pier 1 Imports, Inc. (NYSE:PIR) announced today that it will participate in the Raymond James & Associates Institutional Investors Conference that is being held Monday, March 5th through Wednesday, March 7th, 2001 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida.

Pier 1 Imports, Inc. is currently scheduled to make its presentation on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at approximately 8:40 a.m. eastern time. Cary Turner, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will be discussing the Company's core business advantages and plans, including long-term growth strategies and the recent acquisition of Cargo Furniture.
