NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 5, 2000

Youssef Squali, vice president and Internet analyst at ING Barings, recently spoke with The Internet Analyst, about Netzero (Nasdaq:NZRO) and the effect of free access Internet providers in the Internet service provider Internet service provider (ISP)

"The ISP market can be segmented into three basic categories: First, you have the free access providers; then, the bulk of the market consists of fee-based ISPs like America Online (NYSE NYSE

I think Netzero will benefit from consolidation. It was first to the market and already has more than 4 million registered users. Netzero has been able to negotiate some pretty impressive deals, namely with Qualcomm (Nasdaq-QCOM), which invested $144 million in the company," said Squali.
