NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 2000

MCS Business Solutions (MCS Canon), the Metropolitan New York/New Jersey company that is a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., will be known as Canon Business Solutions, effective January 1, 2001.

Canon U.S.A. is a subsidiary of Canon, Inc. (NYSE: CAJ).

The official name is Canon Business Solutions-Northeast, Inc., which will differentiate this company from the other three Canon U.S.A. sales subsidiaries -- Affiliated Business Solutions (headquartered in Burlington, NJ), Ambassador Business Solutions (Chicago) and Astro Business Solutions (Gardena, California) - that also are adopting the new name of Canon Business Solutions. Affiliated will be known as Canon Business Solutions-Southeast, Inc., Ambassador will be known as Canon Business Solutions-Central, Inc. and Astro will be known as Canon Business Solutions-West, Inc.

"The name change does not signify a new organization, but it emphasizes the strength and breadth of our support services," said Bill Reed, senior vice president and general manager, Subsidiary Sales Division. "With one name, differentiated only by location, our customers will know we have the ability to meet their needs anywhere. This is particularly relevant for national accounts that need local support for their regional locations."

Canon Business Solutions-Northeast, headquartered in Manhattan, New York, employs over 1100 people and has offices in New York, New Jersey, Long Island, and in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. It recently added a Detroit office. The company provides customers with digital network printing, color and black and white copying, duplicating, fax technology and large format printing.

Canon Business Solutions' Integrated Systems Sales Division provides clients with additional support resources that focus on capabilities in IT Systems and Internet applications.
