Moorpark College Moorpark College is a California-state funded community college located on a 134 acre (542,000 m²) property reclining on a hill in Moorpark, a town in Ventura County, California.  Sports camps: Moorpark College will be holding a variety of sports camps this summer. Three coed soccer camps are scheduled for July 22-26, July 29 to Aug. 2 and Aug. 5-9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The coed speed & jump development camp will be held July 15-17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Volleyball camp for girls will be held July 29 to Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. to noon. The All-American wrestling camp is scheduled for Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, contact Moorpark College Athletics at (805) 378-1457.

Track and field: Thousand Oaks High School Thousand Oaks High School is a high school established in 1962 and located in Thousand Oaks, California. It is a California Distinguished School, and offers curriculum at all levels for Thousand Oaks students. The mascot is the lancer.  track and cross country star Kim Mortensen has been selected the Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  female high school Athlete of the Year Athlete of the Year

 this fall, set a national record in the 3,200 meters at 9:48.59. She won the state championship in the same event. In the fall, she won the national cross country championship.

Muir track star Obea Moore was selected the male Athlete of the Year.

Running: The Rancho Simi Rancho San José de Nuestra Senora de Altagarcia y Simi is one of the land grants in California by the Spanish government. The name derives from Shimiji, the name of the Chumash village here before the Spanish.  Recreation and Park District will sponsor summer fun runs at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Ave., Saturdays, July 21, Aug. 17 and Sept. 21. Registration begins at 8 a.m. near the softball fields. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $3 per entrant or $5 with a water bottle. If you have any questions, call (805)584-4400.

Golf: Interested golfers 50 and older are invited to explore the scenic golf courses of the Ventura County region. The golfing trips will take place once a month. Golfers will caravan to the various courses. Trip destinations are planned at monthly meetings at Goebel Senior Adult Center. Call (805) 381-2744 for information.
