GovConnect (Nasdaq:REGI), the leading provider of electronic access and transactions for government agencies, announced that in the first six months of 2000 the organization processed more than 600,000 Web-enabled tax documents filed by businesses and citizens directly over the Internet. GovConnect processed the tax returns from their application service provider (ASP) facility in Cincinnati, which was designed to meet the specific needs of state, local and federal government agencies for processing electronic government transactions in a multi-access environment. The facility supports secure Internet and automated voice response applications in a fault tolerant, high capacity data center.
