The 4120 Digital Video Recorder See DVR. from March Networks Corporation,
Ottawa, Canada, is built for operation in harsh environments such as
those found in mobile applications for rail, bus, and public safety
vehicles as well as in severe industrial settings. Key features of the
4120 DVR (1) (Digital Video Recorder) A device that records video onto a hard disk from one or more ceiling mounted video cameras. Part of a security system, the DVR typically supports 4, 8 or 16 separate camera channels. platform include an EMI-proof, dustproof, and waterproof sealed
chassis; shock- and vibration-resistant construction for mobile use; a
fail-safe battery backup See UPS. operation; flexible installation and mounting
configurations; and a conditioned power supply output for up to four
cameras. The 4120 DVR can be networked, permitting easy video access and
analysis as well as DVR system control, and a portable computer can be
directly connected to the DVR for further video analysis. Wireless
access using an external modem A self-contained modem that is connected via cable to the serial port of a computer. It draws power from a wall outlet. The advantage of an external modem is that a series of status lights on the outside of the case display the changing states of the modem (off-hook, carrier detect, is supported through the 4120 DVR serial
communications port.
