The Antelopes (9-10, 2-2), winless in league play last season, are coming off an impressive 63-50 victory over Palmdale.

An Antelope Valley win tonight, combined with a Lancaster victory over Quartz Hill, would move the Antelopes into sole possession of second place.

Quartz Hill

Today's boys' basketball showdown between Quartz Hill and Lancaster will be played at 4:30 p.m. due to the power crisis in California. Still, the game should provide plenty of electricity as the inside track of the Golden League championship should be on the line.

The Rebels, who stumbled against Palmdale in an earlier league game, will need another heroic performance by guard Mychael Williams to knock off to cease, as from work; to desist.
