The council has been at odds with Riordan ever since his decision to remove one-time ally Ted Stein from the Harbor Commission in what Stein said was an attack because of his support of City Attorney James Hahn for mayor next year. As a result, the council has been exploring procedures to follow in the confirmation of commissioners since the new City Charter removed the council's authority to overturn a mayor's removal of commission members. - Daily News |
