LOS ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2000

Alternative Entertainment Network, Inc. (www.aentv.com) announced today that AltaVista.com (www.altavista.com), one of the top search engines on the Internet will begin to offer the AENTV streaming video A one-way video transmission over a data network. The new deal also calls for AltaVista to have non-exclusive access to other AENTV programming over the next few months.

AltaVista's new "Entertainment Center," which launched today, will provide Internet users with a comprehensive, searchable Web-wide collection of streaming entertainment from related content partners. AltaVista's patented search technology delivers one of the Web's most powerful multimedia indices made up of 35 million image, audio and video files, as well as a radio index of more than 6,700 streams.

Both "Hollywood Reporter Minutes" and "Billboard Minutes" are co-productions with the respective magazines, which deliver daily music and entertainment news, music videos, trailers, and celebrity interviews. All of AENTV's original programming is produced at the recently completed iNEXTV/AENTV Digital Media studios in Woodland Hills, Calif.

"Both 'Hollywood Reporter Minutes' and 'Billboard Minutes' have had enormous success on AENTV," said Drew Cummings, President & CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "We are pleased to be able to team up with AltaVista as a syndication partner where our programming will be available to an even larger audience. Our continued goal is to develop and produce original branded or celebrity-driven programming that has wide demographic appeal, and to offer that programming through our syndication channels to a chosen group of high profile syndication partners, portals, search engines, and destination sites. Using a hybrid business model partially borrowed from the early days of television syndication, we believe that AENTV is well positioned to pursue its objective of becoming the leading producer, aggregator and distributor of streaming video programming for the Internet and Broadband markets."

AENTV.com will continue to announce other major content syndication partners over the next few months, in addition to a ramped-up production schedule that includes three new daily series and two new live 24/7channels focusing on Classic Rock&Roll and the Golden Age of Television, both of which will also be offered for syndication.
