Buccaneers. In the Dec. 18, 2000, game against St. Louis,
Warrick reached the 1,000-yard mark for the second time with
145 yards on 22 carries and three touchdowns. Warrick ranks
sixth on the club's all-time rushing list with 2,620 career
yards and was rated the NFL's No. 1 running back by Sport's
Illustrated's Dr. Z. In 1997 Warrick was named NFL Rookie of
the Year by Football News, Pro Football Weekly and Sports
Illustrated. He was the only rookie selected for the Pro Bowl
following the 1997 campaign.
WHAT: Guest star in an episode of Disney Channel's original sports
series "The Jersey." The episode featuring Warrick Dunn tapes
Friday at Titan Stadium at Cal State Fullerton.
In "Origins," the Monday Night Football Club is on a mission
to save the jersey from being stolen by the malevolent
Blackstone, who wishes to use it for evil. Nick jumps into
Warrick Dunn in the middle of a football game just before
Blackstone's men are able to grab the jersey and run away with
it. When he realizes there are more of Blackstone's men
quickly coming toward him from the sidelines, Nick/Warrick
makes use of his athletic ability and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers
teammates to chase the men out of the stadium and jump to
safety.
In Disney Channel's original sports series, "The Jersey," a
tired old football jersey is passed down to Nick from his
deceased grandfather, but this is much more than your ordinary
jersey -- it's a magical portal into the world of sports.
Astonishingly, its wearer is transported off the couch, onto
the field and into the cleats, shoes or skates of sports
heroes.
