      SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BW SportsWire)--July 28, 2000--

Who: Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, and Dave Wilcox
What: 49er Hall of Fame Autograph and Photo Session Event
    Where: Santa Clara Marriott
    When: Saturday, August 5

Joe Montana's first big autograph party took place in 1981 at a
March of Dimes Benefit organized by the 49er Faithful Fan Club. Mike
Herkenrath, then a ten year old fan, presented Joe with a football
"sandwich" and the wish that it would be the last Joe would "eat" that
season. Montana later went on to win the first of four Super Bowls.
Herkenrath and The Fan Club became good luck charms.
This year, Herkenrath's 49er Faithful Fan Club is hosting a Joe
Montana, Ronnie Lott and Dave Wilcox 2000 49er Hall of Fame Autograph
and Photo Session Event. It will be the first event to honor the
trio's July 29th Canton induction. Over 2,000 fervent Forty Niner fans
are expected to attend.
Fan participants will receive special limited edition signed
footballs, pins, and 14 x 11 prints. Montana's numbered hologram seal
of authenticity will be introduced -- an item that could set the
standard for the sports autograph industry.

For more information, contact Kent or Mike Herkenrath at the 49er
Faithful Fan Club, 400 South Winchester, San Jose, CA 95128;

Tel: 408/249-8000, Fax: 408/984-4937, email: faithful@49erfanclub.com.

Story Ideas: Montana then and now. The huge fan base supporting
Joe Montana. Joe Montana's two different signatures/autographs.
Montana official, forgery-proof hologram seal of authenticity.
