[0] ADVISORY/NFL Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett and Son Anthony Dorsett, Oakland Raiders Strong Safety, to Tape Episode of Disney Channel Original Series ``The Jersey''.Sports Editors/Football Writers & Columnists ADVISORY...for Tuesday Tuesday: see week. (March 20) --(BW SportsWire) Tuesday, March 20, at Ladera Park
WHO: -- 1994 NFL Hall of Fame inductee Tony Dorsett, who played
in two Super Bowls, five NFC championship games and four
Pro Bowls as well as being the NFC rushing champion in
1982 and winning the Heisman Trophy in 1976.
-- His son Anthony Dorsett, No. 33 and strong safety for the
Oakland Raiders, one of the top special teams players in
the NFL. Anthony was the starting safety in Super Bowl
XXXIV and played the safety position and on special teams
for the AFC Champion Tennessee Titans.
WHAT: Guest-star in an episode of Disney Channel's original sports
series "The Jersey." The episode featuring Tony and Anthony
Dorsett tapes Tuesday at Ladera Park in Inglewood, Calif.
In "Basketball Diaries," the jersey jumps Coleman into
Anthony Dorsett to show him how to reconnect with his busy
father. Coleman feels his seemingly standoffish dad wouldn't
like "Slaw," the cool, funny guy he is when he's away from
home. Although Coleman/Anthony loses intense games of one-
on-one and HORSE with Tony Dorsett, he realizes it is
possible to have a better relationship with his dad. Not
only can Coleman be himself around his dad, he also can have
fun with him on the court at the Lighter Than Air Parent/Kid
Basketball Tournament as well as off.
In Disney Channel's original sports series "The Jersey," a
tired old football jersey is passed down to Nick from his
deceased grandfather, but this is much more than your
ordinary jersey -- it's a magical portal into the world of
sports. Astonishingly, its wearer is transported off the
couch, onto the field and into the cleats, shoes or skates
of sports heroes.
