/C O R R E C T I O N -- UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES/

In NY003 "Extension Cords Present Possible Shock Hazard," moved earlier today, we have been advised by a representative of the company that the first sentence should read: "Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) warns consumers that extension cords manufactured by Columbia Wire & Cable of New York, may present an electrical shock.." instead of "Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) warns consumers that extension cords manufactured by Columbia Wire & Cable of Columbus, Ohio, may present an electrical shock..," as originally issued.
We have also been advised that a revised paragraph has been added after the fourth paragraph stating "Consumers can identify these hazardous extension
cords..." The revised paragraph reads as follows:
UL is aware that the extension cords were sold through 420 Odd Lots and Big Lots retail stores in Midwest and Southeast United States. However, consumers should be aware that the cords may also have been sold through other retail outlets. When UL notified Consolidated Stores, owners of the Odd Lots and Big Lots retail stores, of the hazard with the extension cords, Consolidated Stores voluntarily removed the extension cords from the store shelves.
