Business Data Services Provider Standardizes on Mirapoint's M 1000

For Unified Message Access, Storage and Delivery

CUPERTINO, Calif., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Mirapoint, Inc., a pioneering developer of standards-based IP messaging solutions, today announced that FASTNET one of the country's first regional Internet business data services providers, has selected Mirapoint's award-winning M1000 as the core message access, store and forward solution for its evolving unified messaging infrastructure. FASTNET is currently standardizing on Mirapoint's IP messaging server to deliver co-location and customer premise equipment email outsourcing services.

The M1000 is an IP messaging server appliance A self-contained computer system specialized for network use. There are no artificially imposed limits to the total number of users that can be supported by a single M1000 system.

FASTNET is currently deploying the M1000 to deliver outsourced co-location email services which enable customers to own and administer dedicated Mirapoint messaging servers co-located at FASTNET's data center. The M1000 is also delivering managed customer premise equipment (CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Communications equipment that resides on the customer's premises.

By the end of the calendar year the company plans to expand these customer offerings to include e-mail routing, fax-over-IP services, and voice annotated interactive email.

As a business communications services provider, we need a highly flexible messaging platform that will enable us to incorporate additional services beyond email. For FASTNET, the M1000 will pave the way to offering our customers a cost effective unified messaging infrastructure that blends IP-based email, voice and fax services into a single, secure communications tool."

Because of their flexibility, Mirapoint's messaging appliances cater to a variety of service providers, including ISPs, IAPs, NEPs, ASPs, CLECs, Wireless carriers, and messaging service providers.
