(GEN) TURKISH MINISTER COMMENTS ON ANTI-TERROR LAWS.REYKJAVIK, May 30, 2009 (TUR) -- A Turkish state minister expressed his sorrow over objection of some countries to anti-terror laws. Turkey's State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister A Deputy Prime Minister or Vice Prime Minister is, in some countries, a government minister who can take the position of acting Prime Minister when the real Prime Minister is temporarily absent. Bulent Arinc said that he was sad that some countries were objecting to anti-terror laws in regard to freedom of expression. Arinc participated in the First Council of Europe Council of Europe, international organization founded in 1949 to promote greater unity within Europe and to safeguard its political and cultural heritage by promoting human rights and democracy. The council is headquartered in Strasbourg, France. Conference of Ministers Responsible for Media and New Communication Services in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik. "Freedom of expression is absolute when limiting, restricting or controlling internet use," Arinc told a press conference. Arinc said some countries like Denmark and the Netherlands were objecting to anti-terror laws in regard to freedom of expression. "Today some say that every one can say whatever s/he wants, and can express everything on the internet or new media services even if related with terrorism. We regret that such an understanding is assumed by some people and countries," he said.
