(GEN) GLIDING PLANE CRASHES IN NORTHWEST TURKEY, PILOT SURVIVES.


SAKARYA, Nov 22, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- A gliding plane crashed in a northwestern province of Turkey on Sunday. The pilot survived the crash.

The Brazilian pilot of the gliding plane made an emergency landing on Sapanca Lake in Sapanca town of the northwestern province of Sakarya when the plane had a breakdown.

The plane sank in the lake, however Brazilian pilot Jerom swam to the shore and survived the crash. The pilot was in stable condition, witnesses said.

The gliding plane had taken off from the Sapanca Aviation Facilities in the town.
