Speaking during the reception, Talat said CMP's efforts were most valuable, adding that it should be a priority for them to relieve the grievances of relatives of missing persons. Talat said they would continue to support CMP's work. Also speaking during the reception, Christophias said "the missing persons" was an humanitarian issue and stressed that it should never be a exploited for political ends. He said CMP's efforts should be supported with concrete action and not just words, noting that they owed this to families of the missing people and all Cypriots. The contribution follows the specific request of the European Parliament. The agreement was concluded on August 4 between the European Commission and the United Nations Development Program.
