(GEN) ANUGA FAIR IS CRUCIAL FOR TURKEY'S AGRICULTURAL RELATIONS IN WORLD, EKER.

A veterinarian and agro-economist he had a career as a civil servant in the ministry of agriculture before entering politics at the age of 46.
, said Saturday Turkey's being a partner country of the ANUGA trade fair for food and drink technology was crucial for Turkey's agricultural relations in the world.

Turkey's presence at the ANUGA fair as a partner carries high significance for us. Germany is one of Turkey's most important economic, political and cultural partners. Turks living in Germany and the increasing number of Germans living in Turkey contribute to the development of bilateral relations, Eker said.

The right for nutrition and access to food is the right of all. However, one person out of every six can not use such a right. While a segment of world's population consumes unlimited food, another part is fighting for survival. Though the price of food items is going down since July, this does not imply that food crisis is going down as well, Eker also said.

More than 6,000 companies from all over the world are attending the ANUGA fair.
