Following this visit, al-Asad ordered Syrian authorities to build a shipyard in Syria that resembled the Tuzla shipyard, Sabra said.

We look at the Tuzla shipyard as a role model, Sabra said.

We are in the process of deciding on a location for the shipyard in Syria. Once built, the shipyard will be divided into 5-6 parts. We estimated that each part would require an investment of up to 60 million USD USD

Tuzla shipyard is located within Istanbul province.
