(ECO) TURKEY BEGINS TALKS WITH EU TO JOIN ENERGY COMMUNITY.BRUSSELS, Sep 11, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- Turkey and European Union European Union (EU), name given since the ratification (Nov., 1993) of the Treaty of European Union, or Maastricht Treaty, to the European Community have started negotiations on Thursday for Turkey's accession to the Energy Community, European Commission European Commission, branch of the governing body of the European Union (EU) invested with executive and some legislative powers. European Commission said relations between Turkey and EU on energy have reached a milestone after intergovernmental signing of Nabucco deal in July and launch of negotiations on Turkey's accession to the Energy Community.
