(ECO) PROGRESS IN TALKS FOR SHAH DENIZ PROJECT.


ISTANBUL, Jul 10, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said there was progress in talks with Azerbaijani oil authorities for the Shah Deniz Projects.

, adding that they had not yet reached an agreement.

He said Turkish side made a proposal for unit prices for natural gas and that it was the guest delegation's turn to make a counter proposal.

Answering a question as to whether Azarbaijan's recent agreement with Russia caused a rise in prices, Yildiz said Turkey made its proposal before the said agreement.

"We still stand by our offer because we belive our offer looks out for the feasibility of the project and interests of both countries at the same time," said Yildiz.
