(ECO) EUROPEAN INVESTMENT BANK EXTENDS LOAN TO TURKISH YAPI KREDI BANK.


ISTANBUL, Oct 2, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- European Investment Bank European Investment Bank, nonprofit bank created in 1958 by the six founding countries of the European Economic Community (now part of the European Union [EU]).  (EIB See NIST binary. ) extended 200 million Euro of loan to Turkish Yapi Kredi Bank.

Yapi Kredi stated on Friday that it had signed a 12-year loan with the EIB to support small and medium-sized businesses.

The loan amount reached 300 million Euro with the last year's 100 million Euro deal between Yapi Kredi and EIB.

Yapi Kredi stated that it believed small and medium-sized enterprises were the most important hope of Turkey to increase production, employment and research & development.

The bank said it would use the loan for new investments of small and medium-sized businesses.
