(DIP) XINJIANG: TURK FM EXPECTS STEPS FROM CHINA TO RESTORE ORDER.ISTANBUL, Jul 8, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Wednesday that Turkey expects China to take measures to make preparations; to provide means. "Uighurs are one of our kins and we are closely interested in their fate. Also, it is a humanitarian situation in which all the world should be interested in," Davutoglu told reporters while commenting on the violence in Urumchi. Davutoglu said that Turkey and China had a friendship and that Uighurs constituted a bridge for this friendship. "That's why we are holding talks with not only our interlocutors but also with international organizations to help secure peace in the region," he said. Referring to video footage and pictures showing the size of the violence in Xinjiang, Davutoglu said "it is impossible for Turkey and all public conscious to accept these pictures." He said Turkey expects China to restore order, bring the culprits to justice in a transparent manner and take steps to improve the civilian humanitarian situation in the region.
