Bulent Arinc said, "Israeli-Palestinian dispute lays behind the complicated problems in our region. And the issue of Jerusalem constitutes the core of the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. A solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute depends on finding a peaceful resolution to the issue of Jerusalem." Arinc attended the International Jerusalem Forum in Rabat together with Foreign Affairs foreign affairs pl.n. "On the other hand, Palestinians should end the disputes among themselves. One of the priority targets of Turkey's foreign policy is to ensure fair and lasting peace and stability in the region," he said. Arinc said that the parties should refrain from unilateral moves aiming at changing the status and demography of Jerusalem. He expressed concerns about recent saddening developments in and around the al-Haram al Sharif, one of the holiest sites of the Muslim world. "The wounds of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza could not be healed yet. This tragedy should be ended and aid should be sent to the region to meet the most basic requirements of Gazan people. Turkey cannot remain silent against the Gaza tragedy," he added. Arinc is expected to hold a series of bilateral talks in Rabat.
