(DIP) TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTER VISITS CONSTRUCTION SITE OF TURKEY-FUNDED BURN TREATMENT CENTER IN LEBANON.


SAIDA, Aug 1, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is on a formal visit to Lebanon, visited Friday the construction site of a burn treatment center which is funded by Turkey.

Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora accompanied Davutoglu on the visit of the center in Saida province which is expected to cost some 20 million USD USD

"Turkey has always stood by Lebanon's side. The burn treatment center is a major project and we will develop our cooperation with Lebanon further to strengthen our relations," Davutoglu said.

The Turkish minister later attended a luncheon hosted by Lebanese Education Minister Bahia Hariri Bahia Hariri (Arabic: بهية الحريري‎) is a Lebanese politician and sister of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.  and met representatives of Lebanon's religious groups.
