(DIP) TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTER DAVUTOGLU PROCEEDS FROM BOSNIA-HERZIGOVINA TO ALBANIA.


MOSTAR, Oct 18, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who had been holding meetings with officials in Sarejevo, proceeded to Mostar before leaving for Albania.

Davutoglu visited Koski Mehmed Pasha Mehmed Pasha or Mehmed-pasha (Turkish: Mehmed-paša) may refer to one of the following persons
  • A number of Ottoman Grand Viziers ware named Mehmed Pasha, including:
 Mosque and the historic Mostar bridge.Mostar Bridge built by Architect Hayruddin --one of the students of the legendary Ottoman Architect Sinan-- in 1566 was heavily damaged during the civil war in Bosnia-Herzegovinia. Turkey made huge contributions to the reconstruction and restoration of the bridge which has symbolic significance.

Davutoglu later proceeded to Albania.

Davutoglu, who arrived in Sarejovo on an official visit Friday, met earlier with Bosnian Presidency member Haris Silajdzic and the two opened the the "Yunus Emre Yunus Emre (1238?–1320?) was a Turkish poet and Sufi mystic. He has exercised an immense influence on Turkish literature, from his own day until the present. Because Yunus Emre is, after Ahmet Yesevi and Sultan Veled, one of the first known Turkish poets to have composed  Culture Center".

Davutoglu also met with leaders of Bosnia-Herzigovina's political parties in Sarajevo and gave a conference on Ottoman heritage in Sarajevo.

Davutoglu, who arrived in Tirana, Albania Saturday evening, attended a dinner hosted in his honour by Albanian Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Ilir Meta Ilir Meta (born March 24, 1969 in Skrapar, Albania) was the prime minister of Albania from 29 October 1999 to 22 February 2002, replacing Pandeli Majko in this position. Before he was the leader of Euro-socialists (FRESSH) in Albania. .

Davutoglu is also expected to meet with Albanian Premier Sali Berisha and Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli.
