Gul told a press conference at the International Esonboga Airport in Ankara before departing for Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (Azerbaijan), that Turkey had been exerting efforts for a peaceful resolution of the problem between five permanent members of the UN SC plus Germany and Iran. Gul underlined that Turkey did not want nuclear weapons in the region. He said however that it was not possible to say Iran possessed nuclear weapons without actual inspection and welcomed Iran's decision to open its doors to IAEA officials to clarify suspicions.
