(DIP) AFGHAN FOREIGN MINISTER: AFGHANISTAN IS PROUD OF TURKEY'S GAININGS.ANKARA, Apr 2, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta (born 1954 in Herat) is the foreign minister of Afghanistan. He was appointed to that position by Hamid Karzai during a cabinet reshuffle on March 21, 2006 and approved by the 249-seat lower house on April 20, 2006. said on Wednesday that Afghanistan was proud of Turkey's gainings. Speaking at the inauguration of Private Sector & Economic Development Institute in Ankara, Spanta stressed the cultural and economic relations between Turkey and Afghanistan, and said that the two countries resembled each other very much. Noting that Afghanistan was passing through a difficult period, Spanta said that his country was not only on the phase of transition from war to peace but also from communist economy Noun 1. communist economy - the managed economy of a communist state managed economy - a non-market economy in which government intervention is important in allocating goods and resources and determining prices to liberal economy. Spanta also said that Turkish businessmen had a big contribution --especially in construction sector-- in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
