(CUL) TWO TURKISH FILMS TO BE SCREENED IN CANADA.TORONTO, Sep 9, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- " (Should I Really Do It?) by Ismail Necmi. Among the most prestigious international film festivals in the world, this year's festival will take place between September 10 and 19. The festival will begin with "Creation", a film by Jon Amiel. Some of the other films to be screened are "Ondine" by Neil Jordan, "The Informant!" by Steven Soderbergh, "The Boys Are Back" by Clive Owen. In "Men on the Bridge", Asli Ozge originally intended to reveal these different aspects of her hometown (Istanbul) in documentary format. Yet somewhere along the line, the project began to shift toward fiction. Using her original subjects, Ozge scripted their lives to match her inspiration, casting each person in their own life story. In other words Adv. 1. in other words - otherwise stated; "in other words, we are broke" put differently , Men on the Bridge is as true to life as fiction can possibly get. Asli Ozge was born in Istanbul and studied film and television at Marmara University. Her films include the award-winning short Capital C, the feature Little Bit of April and the documentary Hesperos' Apprentices. Men on the Bridge is her latest film. Ismail Necmi was born in Turkey. He studied law at Istanbul University and has taught visual communication design and photography at Istanbul Bilgi University Istanbul Bilgi University (Turkish: İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi) is a private, non-profit university in Istanbul, Turkey. It was actually established in 1994 under the name ISIS (Istanbul School of International Studies), but its name was changed to Istanbul Bilgi . He has also collaborated on a number of feature films, short films, television series and documentaries. Should I Really Do It? Men on the Bridge is his first feature film.
