(CUL) SERBIAN PIANIST TO TAKE STAGE IN TURKEY.ISTANBUL, Mar 25, 2009 (TUR tur: see ibex. ) -- A Serbian pianist will give a concert in the Turkish city of Istanbul in April, the organizer company said on Wednesday. Belgrade-born pianist Tamara Stefanovich will take stage in Istanbul on April 16 within the scope of "Istanbul Recitals", a statement of the organizer company said. The concert will take place at the Mustafa Kemal Center of the Besiktas Municipality. Tamara Stefanovich is a regular performer at major concert halls throughout the world and has enjoyed collaborations with such major festivals as the Ruhr, La Roque roque: see croquet. D'Antheron, Ojai, Lucerne, Klangspuren, Grenoble and Musica Strasbourg. At the age of only seven, Stefanovich gave her first public recital and later became the youngest student at the University of Belgrade The University of Belgrade (Serbian: Универзитет у Београду or Univerzitet u Beogradu) is the oldest and most important higher education institution in Belgrade at the age of thirteen. After earning her masters degree in piano at the age of nineteen, she continued her studies at the Curtis Institute and subsequently studied with Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Cologne Hochschule, where she herself now teaches as assistant to Aimard on a regular basis. In recent seasons, Stefanovich has appeared with the Cleveland, London Symphony, Philharmonia, The Saint Paul Chamber, Bamberg Symphony and Camerata Salzburg orchestras, as well as the Musik Fabrik ensemble. She has recently performed Messiaen's Oiseaux exotiques with the Philharmonia and Esa-Pekka Salonen at the Royal Festival Hall The Royal Festival Hall is a concert, dance and talks venue within Southbank Centre in London, England. It is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames, not far from Hungerford Bridge. as part of the London Messiaen Festival. Recital appearances include performances at NDR Hamburg, Dusseldorf (Schumannfest), the Ruhr Festival, Bonn (Beethoven Haus) and in Italy (Perpianosolo). Since 2003, Stefanovich has been performing regularly with Pierre-Laurent Aimard. Together they performed the entire solo and piano duo compositions by Pierre Boulez A list of works by the French Composer Pierre Boulez.
Stefanovich?s recordings in collaboration include a live recital feature of Etudes by Rachmaninov and Ligeti, premieres of works by York Holler and Marco Stroppa, as well as Bach Aria Variatta, Mozart Duport Variations and Haydn Sonatas. Future releases include the orchestral version of the Bartk Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion Béla Bartók wrote Sonata for two pianos and percussion for the ISCM, and it was premiered by him and his second wife, Ditta Pásztory-Bartók, at the ISCM anniversary concert of 16 January 1938.
