(CUL) PROMINENT TURKISH PIANIST GIVES A CONCERT IN SALZBURG FESTIVAL.


SALZBURG, Aug 1, 2009 (TUR) -- Prominent Turkish pianist and composer Fazil Say gave concert in the International Salzburg Festival.

More than 800 people watched the concert at the Mozarteum Music Hall.

Say received a standing applause at the end of the concert in which he played works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven. Camareta Chamber Orchestra and Moldovan violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja accompanied him during the concert.

Born in 1970 in the Turkish capital city of Ankara, Say studied piano and composition at the Ankara State Conservatory The Ankara State Conservatory, the first conservatory to be founded in the Republic of Turkey, was established in 1936 under the directives of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
