AN OVERWEIGHT couple who lost almost 12 stone between them say their lives have been changed by the experience.

Bryher Hill and her husband Ben joined Weight- Watchers a year ago because they felt so out of shape.

And now between them they've lost the same amount as Wales star Shane Williams This article is about the Welsh rugby player. For the American actress, see Shanésia Davis-Williams.

Bryher has dropped from 19st1lb toa12st5lb while Ben has plummeted from 16st4lb and 8oz to 11st2lb and 8oz.

Occupational therapist Bryher said: "I've gone from a size 24 to a size 12-14. I feel a lot more positive."

Before losing weight Bryher had been off work sick for three weeks during six months in 2007.

But she has not had a day off since.

And the 24-year-old is no longer taunted about her size.

She revealed passers-by would cruelly shout at her if she went out jogging.

She said: "We used to get people blowing their horns at us. Someone at a bus stop shouted abuse at me. I can't remember what they said - something like 'you're never going to get better if you don't run faster'. I ran off in tears.

"I kind of wish I could show them how I've done, to turn around and say 'well, look at me now'."

He said: "Bryher has been going to Weight Watchers for the last three or four years and she asked me if I'd like to go with her. It's been great for me. I feel a lot healthier now than I have for a long time and I can do more exercise."

Last year he ran a half marathon A half marathon is a road running event of 21,097.5 meters, or 13 7/64 miles, about 13.1 miles. It is half the distance of a marathon and usually run on roads. .

He added: "Losing the weight together has definitely improved our relationship because we are a lot healthier and happier.

"Bryher is more confident - and so she should be because she looks amazing."

The couple attended Weight Watchers in Countisbury Avenue, Llanrumney.
