The DVD represents the second generation of compact-disc (CD) technology. for the record-breaking film Under the Same Moon from 20th Century Fox won the top honor at the fifth annual Latino DVD Awards April 28, earning Best of Show as well as Best Theatrical DVD. The honor was announced at an awards dinner and ceremony held at the Museum of Latin American Art MoLAA reopened on 9 June 2007 after a nearly three year renovation. 40,000 square feet of exhibition space was added and a sculpture garden created. Works include Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Jose Clemente Orozco, Fernando Botero and many other pieces from Latin American artists. in Long Beach, Calif. The ceremony presented awards to winners in nine other categories as voted by a panel of judges comprised of top DVD critics, journalists and consumers. Maya took hold of two awards itself. Its second win came from Talento de Barrio bar·ri·o n. pl. bar·ri·os 1. An urban district or quarter in a Spanish-speaking country. 2. A chiefly Spanish-speaking community or neighborhood in a U.S. city. , which won for Best Blu-ray Disc, a new category added this year to recognize the burgeoning high-definition format. Prior to the ceremony, comedian Willie Barcena appeared for a special guest performance. Barcena recently shot his first one-hour standup special, Deal With It, at Hollywood's El Portal Theatre. The live stand-up show which will air on Comedy Central May 2 and heads to DVD May 5 from Salient Media and Vivendi Entertainment and will feature extras such as never-before-seen footage and his famous YouTube "The Wrestler" animation from Clyde Comix com·ix pl.n.
