'Threat to family life'.

THE President yesterday warned of dangers drugs, alcohol and gambling abuse posed to family life.

Mary McAleese was addressing an Accord marriage counselling meeting at its new centre in Limerick.

She said: "Ireland has a reputation as a country characterised by the robustness and stability of family life and it is a great source of our individual empowerment and our civic strength.

"Where the experience of family life is negative there are real risks of consequences that can profoundly damage a child's life's chances and skew (1) The misalignment of a document or punch card in the feed tray or hopper that prohibits it from being scanned or read properly.

(2) In facsimile, the difference in rectangularity between the received and transmitted page.
