LOS ANGELES, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Morgan Creek Records' album "`The Last Of The Mohicans' -- Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The gold award certifies that the album has sold more than 500,000 units in the United States.
The soundtrack features the work of two scoresmiths, Randy Edelman and Trevor Jones. Included also is a song by Irish band Clannad, entitled "I Will find You."
Released in October 1992, "The Last Of The Mohicans" soundtrack has continued to sell strongly ever since and has remained in the Billboard album charts for more than 30 weeks.
The gold award is the second for Morgan Creek Records, whose "`Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves' -- Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" certified platinum in the United States and continues to sell briskly. The single from that album, Bryan Adams' "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)," sold an additional 12 million units worldwide, making it the best-selling single of the past 20 years.
