'Salt of the Earth' forced to suffer.


WHEN the country cried out for men to fight in the war or work in the mines to provide coal for the industry, that call was answered. We are now reaping our reward.

Our days are spent at home sitting in a chair, often gasping for breath, living a life in slow motion.

No demos from us, no marching on Downing Street Downing Street, Westminster, London, England. On the street are the British Foreign Office and, at No. 10, the residence of the first lord of the Treasury, who is usually (although not necessarily) the prime minister of Great Britain.  and ignored by the assembly - what a high price we paid to raise our families, without hand-outs.
