'SAFER BABY '92' CAMPAIGN TO BE LAUNCHED
AT NATIONAL PRESS CLUB SEPT. 1
Safety experts anticipate approximately 60,000 automotive-related injuries and hundreds of juvenile fatalities will occur next year. Sadly, these statistics refer to injuries that could be prevented ... by the use of car safety seats.
Safety coalitions and Monroe Auto Equipment will discuss a month- long public awareness campaign, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. in the Murrow Room of the National Press Club, 14th and F streets N.W., Washington.
While varying state/federal regulations exist to protect child passengers, death and injury statistics continue to be of concern.
"Safer Baby '92" is a month-long national campaign designed to advise parents of the need to properly use child car safety seats. Over 14,000 Monroe retailers will participate in the program which provides free vehicle safety inspections and discounts on Cosco safety seats.
