'Police said killing link irrelevant' COURT.POLICE classed evidence in the murder of a Catholic teenager as "irrelevant" to his inquest inquest, in law, a body of men appointed by law to inquire into certain matters. Lawyers for the partner of Gerard Lawlor said a witness told of a sectarian "hit" less than two hours after the 19-year-old was shot dead in North Belfast. Barry MacDonald QC for Siobhan Ramsbottom said: "This is shortly after the relevant event, close to the relevant location and a suggestion by one of the persons running away that they had carried out a hit on a Catholic on the Antrim Road...it points to a conclusion that it's relevant."
