'MARIE'S' ENTERS SNACK MARKET WITH FIVE NEW VEGETABLE DIPS

CAMDEN, N.J., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) announced today that "Marie's," maker of premium-quality creamy refrigerated salad dressings, is entering the dip market with the introduction of five new refrigerated vegetable dips.
"Marie's is known for the top quality dressings for salads," said Monica Juniel, marketing manager for Marie's, "and like our dressings, these new dips taste so fresh they need to be refrigerated."
Made with a real sour cream base, each of the dip varieties goes especially well with crudites (fresh vegetables). "We use real sour cream in the dips because that's what consumers use in their best homemade dips," explained Juniel.
"We've also featured varieties that consumers love -- contemporary flavors as well as traditional favorites," she noted. The five varieties include: Homestyle Ranch, Spinach, Fiesta Bean, Parmesan Garlic and Sun Dried Tomato. All five varieties received high marks in consumer taste tests.
Since the dips are packaged in 12-ounce clear plastic tubs, noted Juniel, consumers can actually see the product quality at the point of purchase. Beginning in October, Marie's dips can be found in the refrigerated produce section of supermarkets. The line will be supported with various consumer and trade promotions. Suggested retail price is $2.19.
