'Lord of the Flies' author admitted attempting to rape teen, claims book.

 confessed that he tried to rape a girl when he was in his teens, claims a new biography.

", who had intimate access to some of Golding's private works, alleges that Golding admitted to the incident in an unpublished memoir.

 the account in The Sunday Times, the biography tells how Golding, when 18, tried to force a girl named Dora, then 15, after meeting her while taking music lessons in Wiltshire, reports the Telegraph.

Golding, who died in 1993, aged 81, apparently writes that he "felt sure she wanted heavy sex, as this was visibly written on her pert, ripe and desirable mouth" as the two took a walk.

Soon they were said to be "wrestling like enemies" as he "tried unhandily to rape her", but she refused to give in and ran off.

Carey, an emiritus professor of English literature English literature, literature written in English since c.1450 by the inhabitants of the British Isles; it was during the 15th cent. that the English language acquired much of its modern form.  at Oxford University, says that Golding "was aware of and repelled by the cruelty in himself and was given to saying that, had he been born in Hitler's Germany, he would have been a Nazi. Dora seems to have played her part in this self-knowledge."

The biography is due to be published in September. (ANI)
