Birkitt makes occasional appearances on the show, most recently as "Vickie", delivering prizes during audience participation segments and chatting with "Mr. soon after - but is said to have then vowed to make married Letterman "miserable" by revealing his affair unless the 62-year-old paid him the huge sum. An insider on Letterman's show - where Birkitt worked as his assistant - said Halderman's world "was falling apart".
