 as he cosied up to us at Glastonbury last night. We were among the lucky few invited backstage after he flew in by helicopter for his stomping hour-long set. The Welsh crooner told us how he became mates with Jacko in LA - even popping in for tea. He told us: "It's so sad that such a talented man has died.

Maybe it was the stress of doing 50 dates. But he must have had a weak heart for that to happen." After the gig Slang for "gigabyte" or "gigabit." See GB.

 Tom was set to fly back for the funeral, pledging his support for the much talked about tribute single to Michael. He said: "Anything they want me to do ... I'll be there."
