Byline: By SIOBAHN McFADYEN

ANGRY kids will this week stage a demo against the latest shopping centre ban on "hoodies".

Members of the Scottish Socialist Youth The names Socialist Youth or Socialist Youth League have been used by several political youth organizations around the world:
  • China - Communist Youth League (known as the Socialist Youth League of China 1920-1949)

) will target the Eastgate Mall, in Inverness, to protest against Tony Blair's "hats off" policy.

Britain's largest centre - Bluewater, in Kent - recently launched a "zero tolerance The policy of applying laws or penalties to even minor infringements of a code in order to reinforce its overall importance and enhance deterrence.

Since the 1980s the phrase zero tolerance has signified a philosophy toward illegal conduct that favors strict imposition of
" approach to hats or hoods.

And now shops in the Eastgate Mall are banning hoodies in a bid to foil shoplifters.

The SSY's Simon Cann, who is leading Saturday's protest, insisted kids are being punished for the actions of a minority.

He added: "It's ironic that many of the Eastgate stores are quite happy to sell the offending articles, while banning them from being worn."

While the Eastgate centre is not launching a blanket ban, individual shops are refusing to serve "hoodies". A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said it backed the scheme.
