A wooden doll my father carved out of wood and I named Bonzo. My dad was fantastically gifted until he had a severe stroke at the age of 34. Mum nursed him until he died at 70, seven years ago. Who was your first crush? My neighbour was older than me and went into the Navy. How did you and your partner meet? He was the friend of a boy I was courting. I gave them a lift to college one day and thought 'what a hunk'. Not long after I met him in the local pub. What's your most treasured possession? A Claddagh ring The Claddagh ring is a traditional Irish ring, given in friendship or worn as a wedding ring. Some questions the toddlers or my grandchildren ask require a diplomatic explanation, like why is that dog giving the other dog a piggy back? He's got a bad leg, of course. Do you or have you ever had a nickname? Pinky, class or what because I love Pink. I have a sea of pink in my wardrobe. My friends all expect me to wear pink if we go anywhere. When was the last time you cried? This week. I went to the school to watch the children who went up last September in their concert. Watching them singing and reciting their lines always brings a tear to my eye. |
