'ELENI KNIFE KILLER TOLD PACK OF LIES'.Byline: MAGGIE BARRY THE man accused of the Di Maggio pizzas murder was yesterday branded "a callous cal·lous adj. Of, relating to, or characteristic of a callus or callosity. callous of the nature of a callus; hard. liar". Spaniard Juan Crispin denies stabbing to death and robbing manager Eleni Pachou, 25, at the Glasgow restaurant last May. But summing up to the jury at the high court, prosecutor Brian McConnachie QC said: "Juan Crispin is guilty beyond any shadow of a doubt. He is an arrogant, callous liar who murdered a young innocent girl for his own ends." Crispin's blood was found at the scene and the injury he suffered because of the ferocity of the attack would be his undoing, the prosecutor claimed. Crispin, 37, blames former lover Marion Hinshelwood, who has admitted to the culpable homicide
But the prosecutor said she would have to be "very cunning and clever" to leave his blood mixed with Eleni's. Defence QC Ian Duguid claimed Hinshelwood feared Crispin was going to dump her for Eleni and had a motive for the savage attack. He asked: "Why would a person in for a robbery need to stab someone 17 times and why would that person strive to facially disfigure disfigure v. to cause permanent change in a person's body, particularly by leaving visible scars which affect a person's appearance. In lawsuits or claims due to injuries caused by another's negligence or intentional actions, such scarring can add considerably to her." The jury was due to retire today.
