'Cuba Action Day' to protest U.S. travel ban.


More than 700 Americans from 35 states have registered to participate in a so-called "Cuba Action Day" on Apr. 27, according to organizers, "to demand that Congress end the Cuba travel ban that divides families, denies Americans their fundamental right to travel, harms Cubans, and impedes the creation of American jobs."

It is to take place at the Dirksen Senate Office Building The Dirksen Senate Office Building was the second office building constructed for members of the United States Senate in Washington, D.C. and was named after the late Minority Leader Everett Dirksen from Illinois in 1972. , with participants to include Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), Mike Enzi (R-WY), Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-MA) and Rep. Jeff Flake (R-AZ).

Army Sgt. Carlos Lazo, who is serving in Iraq but is unable to visit his sons in Cuba, will speak, as will "other victims of the travel ban, as well as Cuban-American family members and representatives of the faith community."
